Opening Friday, February 19th, with a reception beginning at 6pm, Taking it all brings together a group of emerging arts for a two day pop-up show. Whether restaging iconic film moments or remolding found footage, the emerging artists involved in Taking it all in relish in the privilege of the amateur. Coupled with a novice curator, this show celebrates the cherished position of student. While their practices and intentions are certainly not juvenile, this mixture of BFA, MFA, and recent graduates all use object-based-analysis to question predefined and lofty terms like feminism, craft, art, fashion, and value. With the ideals and shortcomings of arts education in mind, they play with humor and form often returning to personal histories for inspiration.
